I feel Biden is probably not doing so well, but I also don't think there's another candidate for peeps to rally behind this close to the election, even if others, including Jon Stewart, seem to feel otherwise. Like, I'm genuinely scared that it went from a 50/50 chance of Trump winning to becoming a lock for that fucker to get in

And what will you do if you fear Trump will win?

- You can keep supporting Biden and nothing changes.
- You can join the movement to replace Biden for a candidate that might have a better chance to defeat Trump. But it was way too late, imo.
- You can join the fanatics that chose to harass undecided voters and call them Trumpers in disguise, and losing them.
- Or you can try your best to get more people to vote for Biden. But ultimately, it's still up to Biden.

Your kidding right?

I have seen Project 2025 talked about more by the general media in the past week then I have seen in years before. Shit, this was even part of an opening monologue on Late Night With Seth Meyers, beyond that both CNN and MSNBC have done some pieces about it, and it was also just on the Daily Show a few nights ago.

So yeah this notion that the media is ignoring it is ridiculous, I guess if you only watch Faux News that might be the case.

For me, the confidence was never in Biden but in my fellow Americans.

Trump attacked American democracy and wants to be a dictator. But Biden is old.

It breaks my heart to realize I was lied to my whole life, this idea that Americans inherently want freedom and democracy for everyone.

Because for 3 election cycles in a row weve had to have this fight. We cant just agree dictatorship is always bad

Even if Trump loses (which I have no faith in) in 2028 well be doing this again.

Dictatorship is the default desire for Americans, if the alternative isnt perfect theyll resort to the default the first chance they get.

If Democrats never vilified him and we could even get a taste of what he wanted to give us, people would be a loooooooooooot happier. But nah, gotta keep the poor poor.

It's too late in the election cycle for a change due to what Left couldn't do already.

And that is throw full support behind a candidate even if they aren't perfect.

The absolute most disturbing thing about people saying Biden should be replaced is no one has a NAME.

I honestly think Biden has done a very good job, but if someone else can guarantee a Trump lost, I would drop Biden like a bad habit. BUT WHO?!!!!

Who is ready to step up, and who are the far left liberals, the moderate democrats, and the independents ready to throw the full support behind. And here's the important piece, it can't just be someone they love during the honeymoon, when a scandal pops up they still will "Stand by their Man"

Who is EVERYONE willing to vote for no matter what?

Anytime I throw out a name, I several people who do the "but they're not perfect because..." which tells me, this isn't about finding someone better than Trump (which Biden objectively is, a blind monkey is better than Trump), it's about how Americans are only against Trump/Dictatorship if the alternative is PERFECT.

Trump's win in 2016 wasn't the fluke, Biden's win in 2020 was. Disagree? Prove me wrong in 2024.

As long as either Biden stays in the race OR he resigns the presidency now to let Harris continue his incumbency, we will win this.

But a convention snap election next month to see if Whitmer or Bernie would fill the role is a bad move and we will LOSE.

Alot of people feel that way, but many more vote on familiarity and connection to how the administration performed. With new names you lose that record and that familiarity.

theres the what ifs (which I agree btw, Bernie was my candidate, and Id still take him now)

and then there is reality. No sense in pondering what ifs at this stage in the game.

The whole point of American media is to keep things 'exciting' all the way. It's like those cooking shows where contestents have a certain amount of time to prepare something, and the show makes it look like they're rushing to complete the dish until the very last second (even though in reality they're often already done before the timer runs out).

It's the same reasoning why it's so hard to find accurate polls and objective sources around this kind of thing. The true state of affairs usually isn't very exciting.

I believe a cold was giving him issues because less than 24 hours later he gave a very powerful speech, sure he had a teleprompter but that doesn't change how his voice sounds or how commanding his speech is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5CVZHAjrW8

Even if he said the same exact things at the debate and sounded like this people would have thought he did a better job. Sure teleprompters help him with what to say but they sure as fuck don't make him sound this way.

Nah, it was a bit of a fluke and it was partially because Hillary fucked the campaign up. She didn't visit the rust belt once and Trump went there often and guess what he won those states, Hillary thought they would go for her easily.

She also spent a ton of time and money trying to get Texas to flip blue and it didn't work. So yeah Hillary or her campaign managers were making major mistakes in 2016 which led to Trump winning.

Shit, in the first footage of Trump at the white house as the upcoming President he is looking around a bit bewildered at how that happened. Sure his ego would not allow him to ever say that but they were not ready at all to run the country on day 1.

People just think every election is just a popularity contest and while that might be partially true how you campaign, and where you campaign, and spend money is vital to winning. This is especially true because you aren't going to really flip anyone that had their mind made up 3+ months before the election. You are courting independents and undecided voters that's it, most people make up their mind on who they are voting for way before election day.

People are saying it would be worse if Biden WAS replaced due to 4 months not being enough time for them to build a base around themselves, plus Kamala, the most likely replacement, being extremely unpopular.

There are also donation concerns, if it wasn't Kamala or Biden they have to basically start fundraising from 0. Biden has over $200 million in donations to use at this point, if some other guy like say Gavin Newsom comes out he has 4 months to raise money at a rapid rate.
