Yup, the billionaires are so scared of Kamala winning that they've forced RFK Jr. to back off from the election due to him siphoning off more votes from Trump.

His voting base has mixed feelings about this: https://www.reddit.com/r/RFKJrForPresident/

Some hate the DNC enough to want to vote for Trump, others are bitterly disappointed enough to want to stay home, while the rest will simply write RFK Jr.'s name on the ballot out of spite for the two-party system. Needless to say, RFK Jr.'s endorsement of Trump will help boost the GOP, but probably not enough to stop Kamala's momentum especially if she does well in the upcoming debate.

Funny enough, it might be the conservatives that finally break the 2 party system. The only reason liberals and progressives don't take that risk, was because of conservatives blind loyalty. If they finally break that loyalty, others will follow, forcing the 2 parties to actually try harder.

Sadly, most polls show that most RFK voters would break for Trump over Kamala. Him dropping out will be good for Trump, to say otherwise is being dishonest with yourself.

I don't think it will but it will make it ever so slightly tighter, which matters in a race that is currently rather tight. Though a lot could and probably will change between now and November.

Many of the people who were legitimately supporting RFK will just stay at home, in this case him dropping out makes no difference.

There also people who tell pollsters they support RFK, but in the actual election they were always going to vote for Trump whether RFK was on the ballot or not. There are still many people in the U.S. who think it makes them look smart and cool to say they are voting third party, even if it's not true.

Nationally he's polling about 4.5% which I think would be the highest a third party has gotten since Ross Perot.

Kamala either completely eradicates the EC or she loses. There is no inbetween. I don't think this will be a "close" victory for Democrats.

Agreed. A tie would be the same as losing. Therefore, Kamala and the Democrats have to give it everything they got in both advertisements and voter registrations.

Yup. I mentioned it in one of the other topics. It's one thing to request a job, but offering a position to someone to join forces seems potentially illegal

18 U.S. Code 599, Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned.

18 U.S. Code 600, Whoever, directly or indirectly, promises any employment, position, to any person as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity or for the support of or opposition to any candidate shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

Business Insider back in July
Though there was no clear conclusion to the conversation in Milwaukee a Trump spokesperson simply said that Trump speaks "regularly with important figures in business and politics" the quid-quo-pro appears to violate the law. Under section 599 of title 18 in the U.S. Legal Code, it's illegal for a candidate to "directly or indirectly" promise a future job or position "for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy."
