I can tune in any time of day to get updates on kamala harris' shoe choice, donald trump's latest lie in the past 3 minutes or which of the yacht sinking passengers they've identified in the past 24 hours In actual news, I can get constant updates on the israel-palestine crisis, and the occasional bit about ukraine But essentially...nothing at all about the oh, 7 million people or so who have been displaced in the Congo. Virtually nothing at all. You have to go actively hunting to find an article and it will be written by a humanitarian aid group I suspect if you asked most people they would have no idea, other than "oh well stuff is always going on in Africa right?" I don't exactly know why that is. Maybe because it's been going on for a long time, maybe because it's hard to get any news out of the congo.
