Maybe Canada? Im not sure. Inappropriate interaction with minors is one of those things I thought was condemned worldwide these days, hard to believe they would be behind on that.

At this point I think it should be clear that people guilty of sex crimes don't really get much time unless they have things like kidnapping or murder with it. All these people end up with short sentences and house arrest with long periods of probation and their name on a list.

I'm confused. What in the article are people apparently missing? It says he was previously arrested for purposely befriending families to use his position of trust to sexually assault the children, so that definitely feels like "Why did he get another chance?" is a very understandable question.

From what I understand, it seems like more events being discovered after the initial arrest instead of of him being arrested and then committing more offenses.

The timeline isn't super clear.

Yeah, I got that from re-reading it.

However, what is clear is that, for whatever reason, there WAS a "second" arrest, which still makes the "Why did he get another chance?" question valid, since... Just based on the events known for the first arrest, I guess the question becomes "Why was a 're-arrest' necessary? What happened after the first arrest?"

EDIT: Basically, even if he didn't do anything after the first arrest (which is unclear, since the article isn't clear), why was he apparently released or whatever in the first place, in such a short time, that made a "re-arrest" necessary?

There's no mention of him being convicted, so it's possible they didn't have the evidence to do so.

This was a good call, so I looked further, and found this:

Kevin Marsh was arrested in 2017 and charged with numerous offences including four counts of sexual assault.

He is currently serving a 20 year sentence.

Is it a thing where they can add more charges to somebody already in prison? And if it is, they absolutely should have provided this detail in the articles.

Yeah looking at other articles are not making the timeline any clearer. Like, he got arrested in October 2017, let go, more crimes were discovered so they arrested him again a month later, and then just now arrested him again? What?

It sounds like he's been in prison and they're bringing more charges against him, but using the word "re-arrested" is absolutely throwing things off, to the point where I'm absolutely not sure about what I think occurred.

'Cuz, like... How does somebody in prison get "re-arrested?"

My best guess is that they legally have to "arrest" him in order to charge him, even if he's already in prison. So the "arrest" would mostly just be a matter of paperwork in that case.

It'd be nice if the articles would actually state this, instead of confusing people.

What made me unsure is only a few articles mention him being in prison. Most don't even do that, so they don't even allow you to fill in the blanks.
