Don't drive but heck I think the reason why I had so much fun money was because of that. Also I think I realized that I wasn't a very good driver anyway so I prided myself on saving money...... ramble ramble.

Sounds about right. Just one 33" BFG A/T's for my truck is close to $300 per right now.

In the mid 00's I could get all 4 for like $700.

Good tires are not cheap, I just bought 4 for my wife's truck and it was over 1300

That's pricey, but good tires can truly save your life. What brand did you end up getting? I have Nokian on my car.

Having a car is a huge cost that isn't discussed enough.

For SUVs and trucks, tires get pricey.

My last tires were $80 apiece, and they were disappointingly expensive.

This is one of the reasons I don't miss having a car. Tires are way too expensive.

Make sure you regularly rotate them. They will last longer so you won't have to spend that much so soon. And no, driving doesn't 'rotate' them, har har har.

They have gone up like everything else. But getting all 4 tires brand new has always been a waiting game because it's such a large purchase.

I buy "new" used for my Camry though and I can get all 4 for like $250 or less. I put less that 5k a year on it and the tread sometimes appears new.

You overpaid. I can get decent tires from Costco for maybe 200 including installation.

I just bought 4 new tires. Spent a little over a grand on them.

I got 4 new tires at Costco back in February for ~$720. Wtf kind of tires are you all buying?

Thankfully I don't drive a lot, but I just got an SUV and it uses run-flats so I'm not excited to have to buy 4 of those when its time lol

I just put new tires on my truck last Fall. Full size Chevy truck all 4 for $928.76. Good quality tires supposed to be guaranteed for 60,000+ I expect to get more.

Previous set were original factory tires that were rotated yearly and I got 75,000 miles out of over 10 years. Other than regular oil changes and 1 battery change after 7 years just to be cautious its the only money Ive had to spend on my truck.

Ah, that could be why. I've always driven sedans. But the last time I bought new tires was in like 2018. So they are likely higher priced than they were.

They were michelin tires btw.

Those are some expensive tires. Last time I got tires I paid $700 for a four set and got Continentals.

Yeah, my car's tires are $267 each. Pirelli run-flats, apparently made of tissue paper.

Yeah was annoying car wouldn't pass inspection due to tires. They said the back 2 first time so I got 2 new tires and came back then they said the front 2 also needed changed. Pissed me off cause I specifically asked him to check the rest of the tires when he said the inspection was a no go just after looking at 1 tire

I can get tires for my Altima for as little as $53 apiece at Walmart. (I live in a rural area, so we aren't crawling in options.) That's for a brand I'm honestly not familiar with, however. Most of the options they have for me are in the 50s to 60s apiece. The most expensive is Goodyear at $95 per tire. Honestly, I'd just get the $53 tires, so just over $200 for four.
