It's downloaded to my PS5 I can't wait to play it tonight

Just wanna say it's awesome being able to download shit to your console/PC from a mobile app so that shit is ready when you get home from wherever

Also I finished up getting all the secret bots in Playroom supposedly you can play as them in Bot or something I'm not sure

I'm definitely picking this up and will probably put my current games on hold to play it. I loved Astro's Playroom

I love this game :D

Too soon to say if it's an all-time classic but it is such high-quality and straight up fun as an action platformer that it could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with greats like Mario, Crash, Spyro, etc...

So wild that we see Sony crash and burn with Concord and then release this stellar gem of a game on the same day they kill the Concord servers lol

It's weird, I never actually realized "The Playroom" on my PS4 was a game at all. Never bothered clicking on it, never heard anyone else ever talking about it, etc.

Then the PS5 came out and people started talking about how much they loved The Playroom and now they loved Astro's Playroom on the PS5 and I was like, wait, what?

Now we're three deep and I still haven't played any of them. Maybe some day.

Playroom was fun, but is this game even better?

Does it have some of the kind of gimicky motion control stuff that playroom have? Like tilting the controller for the ball?

You can turn off the motion control shit and just use the thumbsticks

Playroom is a glorified tech demo for the PS5 and the DualSense. Bot, while still showcasing a lot of what the PS5 and DualSense are capable of, is very much a full-fledged game and builds on the Playroom foundation in many ways. And it's a joy to play. Just flat-out fun

This may end up being my game of the year tbh. This or Concord it's a tough call

Dude that and the rubber duck spray being inconsistent were driving me up a wall. The rubber duck would sometimes leave holes where I was spraying that I would fall into and get scorched... And if I managed to get through that bullshit and the missile bullshit, the next platform with the moving flamethrowers and the sticky goo would get me. The only way I could pass the sticky goo was to trigger the flamethrowers and jump backward, rinse the goo with the duck and then proceed once the flamethrowers reset.

I can't fathom that's how it's intended. Playroom was clearly designed for speedrunning and even had a trophy for it. This level seems poorly designed for speedrunning

Once I got past the initial gauntlet and got through the sticky goo the rest isn't too bad, but where most levels might've taken a handful of tries tops, this level took me dozens. Just a ridiculous spike that kinda took me by surprise

got the platinum trophy in just under 18 hours of playtime. great experience aside from those two dumbass levels to be fair, I was drunk for both levels

that final challenge is definitely up there with some of the more difficult parts of crash bandicoot 1 n sane trilogy

I didn't think the final challenge was as bad as some of the earlier ones. Just longer.

Not yet my brother bought us Space Marine 2 and we've been playing co-op in that and going back and forth between the two games but I'm prob 90% finished with Astro Bot

Moveset is a little simple for my taste but it's still really great.

Just got the platinum. Yeah the final challenge took me a couple dozen runs but with that level I felt like it was designed well and didn't have goofy bullshit like the rubber duck/homing missiles/sticky goo+flamethrower gauntlet in Splashing Sprint. That shit felt poorly designed. In the golden bot level I felt like my mistakes were my mistakes and not due to some horseshit like a rubber duck not creating a consistent path

This is a 9.5/10 game for me. If they fine tuned stuff like that rubber duck over lava mechanic and maybe sprinkled in a few more references it would've been a perfect 9.8/10
