Was the best 3D Zelda game for a while.

Really fell off a cliff for me after my first DB. It was a 9 at that point, but then just completely lost my interest really. Too many elements I disliked about it and knowing this is the formula theyre gonna use going forward for some time Ill just be sticking to the secondary games like Echoes of Wisdom until that changes. Just knowing the series will be this style made me want to go a 3 or lower though.

8.8, as an 8.5 feels too low but a 9 feels too high.

Just incredible levels of interactivity with a game world.

Almost feels weird giving it a 10, but it would feel weirder not to. It's loaded with flaws, but it revolutionized exploration in open world games with a few simple, genius design choices that resulted in a level of freedom never really attained before it. Best exploration game ever made, at least before Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom.

Brilliant FromSoft level design that still doesn't quite reach the heights of some of their other efforts. But the combat system with the rally mechanic, the transformable weapons, the lack of shields and emphasis on aggressive playstyles - it all adds up to one hell of an experience. Basically every weapon in that game is a blast to use. And it got me good with Dex builds.

This is tough because the game was magical at first in a way Zelda hasn't been in a while. But then the open world thing really tires me out and makes exploration feel more like a chore than something I legitimately want to do. Wish there was more dungeon emphasis, but the shrines are really fun. Really my feelings for this type of game got worse with Tears.

Absolutely nails open world traversal but the actual world is boring and barren. Feels even more so now that Tears exists and shows how much better of a game you can make with the exact same map.
