Back in the days when I first played FFVII, having to insert a new disc felt kinda like an event. Like, "Oh shit, what's going to happen now?" Like you got a new comic book and were about to read an exciting new issue, or see a brand new part of a movie trilogy/quadrilogy.

Yep unless you installed the entire game onto your PC you'd have to constantly swap four or more disks in and out.

Oh hey me too.

I know that objectively speaking it's better that we don't have to worry about switching discs/disks but it was kinda hype back in the day when things ended on a cliffhanger and you got the prompt saying it's time to switch.

Baldur's Gate, because my laptop was screwed up and it wouldn't register more than one disc per boot-up. So it would read disc 1 (needed to launch the game) but if I got to an area that required disc 2 I was SOL.

FFVIII is a *very* close second.

Ugh. Returning to the vendor with the OP gear once you have the funds at the end of the game was a nightmare. Insert disc 3, now insert disc 2, now disc one. Time to move back up to disc 4 to finish the game.

REmake and several other GameCube games. The GameCube discs were so small, that any semi lengthy games had to be put onto two discs. "Insert disc 2" was a common thing for a lot of owners of that console to have seen.

Syphon filter. Only because my neighbors bought it together and they split it by disk. 1 kid had disk 1 and 1 had disk 2. I'm like one of you can start the game but can't finish and the other can't even start...
