Ridley Scott is working on another Alien movie.

Alien: Romulus, directed by Fede Alvarez, recently proved a huge hit and so, following that movie's success, Scott is developing another Alien film for 20th Century Studios, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Now, Romulus is also getting a sequel with Alvarez returning to direct. This new movie from Scott appears to be a different project entirely, though there are no further details at the moment, and it's not even clear if he'll be helming the project. Scott, of course, directed the original Alien, along with Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

Word in the bathroom is that they want to saturate the IP with the recent success, with Alvarez headlining their main bread winner (Romulus 2), RS finally given the goahead to finish his prequel trilogy (this topic) and Alien Isolation 2 being suddenly greenlit for an asap release (Announced a few weeks ago.)

There's also talks of a show, too, lol.

Alien Romulus was also heavily inspired by Alien Isolation, the director himself said it, and the movie was great.

My only gripe was the final boss that was telegraphed way too easily, no issues with it but we could see that coming a mile away.

Don't you mean Covenant? I realize that the idiocy of Prometheus is more famous, but aside from two characters engaging in substance abuse *note: the other example is Shaw's day-drinking husband* and the guy playing with the hammerpede (Vickers and Shaw running under the rolling spaceship is very much YMMV since that was the only thing shielding them from the heavy rain of fiery debris), the Covenant crew is far stupider. Most of the remaining examples in Prometheus are on-par with or outright repeated in Covenant.

In Covenant we have:
--They have a rack full of dangerously explosive fuel merely held in place with netting. There are so fucking many reasons why this is stupid as hell to have those exposed and unprotected rather than sealed inside explosion-proof, heat-proof plating. First of all, they could be knocked loose and one or more canisters cracked if the ship crashes. And if said crash results fires or even a single spark, KABOOM! Electrical fires are another possibility. If said fire starts near or spreads to the canisters, it could obviously cause a kaboom via incendiary heat. Third, there is the very scenario which we actually see in the movie.
--The crew doesn't bother wearing protective gear and poke around at vegetation when they explore an unknown planet which could potentially have pathogenic organisms everywhere.
--One character goes off alone to wash up, despite knowing that dangerous creatures are around.
--Hell, the countless instances of "hey, let's split up gang!" in general. The Aussie stoner was the only character in Prometheus stupid enough to do this willingly.
--The captain doesn't kill David despite seeing him play with the neomorph that just killed his crewmate then loses his shit when the captain kills it.
--The captain follows David into the creepy basement and believes him when he claims that the facehugger eggsac is harmless.
--The captain, immediately after regaining consciousness post-facehugger: "What do you believe, David?"
--The crew don't bother to test "Wagner" *via asking him questions that David would not know the answer to* in order to make sure that he's not actually David, in spite of the fact that they didn't see how the fight turned out. I mean this has to be hands-down the stupidest decision in the entire movie.
--They should have run in-depth internal diagnostics on the crew member that got briefly face hugger'd for pathogens.
--That couple blaring the music while having sex in the shower. They won't be able to hear an emergency message over the intercom, plus it's just plain bad taste after losing so many crew members.

I like a lot of Scott's movies. IMO Prometheus was pretty good -- still gotta watch covenant. Romulus was pretty good IMO
