Hey FFD - I had the same thing happen to me in 2023 (during SMFFFC season...)

My issue was what they outlined there: I used the Opera browser, and I used the Ghostery add-on. I know they mention the "additional traffic" but I also googled and came across something claiming Ghostery acts like a mini-DDOS at times.

They key thing was you should get that notice and your screenshot includes that there's a "promise not to do this" agree button but I made the mistake of agreeing, hitting back on my browser, and since I was still in Opera+Ghostery it did hit me with a straight ban. And it took at least a week before they gave me that "click this button to agree" option again, been using Waterfox exclusively for browsing Gamefaqs ever since without issues (knock on wood)

Also was using a VPN while I had that temp ban going on and never had any issues so I doubt it's that but who knows.

If you're not using Brave or Opera, maybe there's another extension out there that works like Ghostery that's causing this flagging issue. Or maybe it is a VPN thing where the VPN's been flagged due to a previous user creating issues...

I can also say that after it happened I submitted a feedback ticket which is supposed to be adjudicated within a business day or two, I believe they claimed, and never ever got anything about it.

Nothing has changed from this morning settinfs-wise so I don't know.

Happened to me a few months ago too. I think it was from ublock origin in Firefox.

Right because it's tied to the IP and your cell data uses whatever the cell IP is. Same deal if you use a VPN, you'd be able to access it without that issue. So it's no issue with your account, it's just that the website thinks you did something from your IP that was a no-no. I don't know if it can ever changed over from an IP block to an account block, I know I was terrified of that happening when i was using the VPN during my block time but it does seem to just be an IP thing. And not tied to any specific device because yeah, on my phone on my wifi was no good, on my phone using data no issue.

If you don't use Opera or Brave or any extensions, or don't have somebody else accessing your home network doing those shenanigans, then it's a real mystery...

Are you still getting the "temporarily blocked" message with the option to click the button saying you won't do it again, or has it changed over to the perma-block? I dug up my screenshots when this happened to me and the perma-block message has a bit different wording.

I don't remember what the URL for the feedback form is but you could always send a request into the endless void and see if anything comes back, lol...
