Granted, I I put nearly 500 hours in the game but that was when it came out, 2011-2012 and I haven't played it since.

Same but I play ESO. The dynamic is still there. AD vs EP vs DC. There is AD on the coast of Genumbra, DC on the coast of stonefalls. They were always invading each other. NM the Imperials invading everywhere. The stormcloaks are within their right since the Thalmor are the prelude to a invasion force. Force a minor war softens up Skyrim for a major invasion. I predict canon for skyrim will be that the the stormcloaks lost. ES6 will be part 2 of this storyline.

Imperials since in the game when you go into the Thalmor HQ you find that they brain washed Ulfric and are using him as a puppet to weaken Skyrim and the Imperials so they cant replenish the ranks.

All the stormcloak rebellion is doing is making a Thalmor victory easier.

Idk why everyone says this. There's nothing about Ulfric being brainwashed. They describe him as an uncooperative asset. They were in contact with him in the past, but haven't been since the markarth incident. Plus they state outright they don't want the stormcloaks to win. The thalmor consider him useful, but he isn't taking orders or even communicating with them.

I don't think they care who wins or loses they just want it to last long enough it makes them crushing the empire as easy as possible.

If only there was a 3rd option. Where you took on both the Stormcloak and the Imperials singlehandedly, and at the end of the quest your declared ruler of Skyrim. I'm sure there's already a mod for that out there, but that should be core decision in the Skyrim main game. Fuck those factions.

I've always just ignored the civil war questline anyway to do other stuff.
