Lucky enough to get an invitation to the premiere through a community theater.

Really solid adaptation. I love the usage of physical sets. The coloring is really beautiful too.

Cynthia Erivo is so magnificent as Elphaba. It's so easy to empathize with her. And Ariana Grande is really fun and peppy as G(a)linda.

Go see it!

And yeah the wrong site on the merch packaging is... Altogether, hilarious. Sorry for the kids who got exposed to porn though.

I personally can't stand anything Ariana Grande is after she threw Jennette McCurdy under the bus, and she was partially responsible for why Victorious got cancelled.

What I know about her is that she was a final fantasy character and she seems to change ethnicity every few years. But I couldn't name you one of her songs (that wasn't in Brave Exvius (which I believe was called Touch It. Maybe.))

I believe the first movie is the entire musical up to the time skip near the end.

2nd movie will basically be Wizard of Oz from the witches perspectives.

This is an adaptation of the book Wicked as much as the musical.

The timeskip is between acts, not near the end; Defying Gravity is the big closing number for act 1.

Guess its been too long since i saw the show. I really did not remember much of the play taking place after Dorothy arrived.

Didn't realize this movie was gonna be Lord of the Rings length, but planning to see it this weekend at some point.

RT review scores are way higher than I expected. Maybe I should see this?

Although reading more into Ariana makes me not want to see it. I was oblivious to how bitchy she is, which is unfortunate because she is very talented, and carries her way more than her personality apparently

I would expect the second movie to just be the second act. Even though the book exists, I don't think they want to break away from the musical's structure.

Thank you for that update! I was wondering if that early speculation ended up being wrong.

I liked it. I thought there could've been more extended choreography shots (as in a traditional musical) but this was pretty good

i love the musical but holy shit, 160 minutes for act one?!

It works! I mean, if there's any part that I felt went too long, it's the Defying Gravity sequence... but I'd give about no notes on the rest of the film.

well i unironically can't think of a better part to be stretched out, so if you liked it then i'm optimistic!
