Lots of times it takes a few episodes for the writers to figure out what kind of show they're making. The first couple episodes of Parks n Rec are some of the worst TV that I've ever seen. Then a few episodes in April asks Ron if he's ready and everything from that point on is a drastically better show --- I don't believe in belts. The jokes felt forced and it didn't really land with me and I'm someone that enjoys his previous stuff. The thing I couldn't really get over that kept distracting me is truly how old he looks. I get it, age comes for us all. We know Home Improvement was a long ass time ago as I was 15 when it started and I'm pushing 50 myself. But still even watching Last Man Standing he seemed older but never really truly old. Granted when that show first started it was 14 years ago and the bulk of the reruns I tend to catch are somewhere in the middle of the shows run and a little bit of them later. But I did watch some of that after they changed networks and came back and it just went off the air 3 years ago. But now all of a sudden bam, its like it really caught up to him. I'm not trying to shame him or anything but that 70+ hit hard. He doesn't even seem like he is able to deliver his lines as smoothly or coherently as before. The skin on his arms looks quite bad and his face has just straight up aged. Seems like a big difference from even late stage Last Man Standing where he was like mid 60's. It was all I could really focus on. But weirdly even Kat Dennings in the face looked quite different to me. Late 30's on her was showing aging in the face more than I expected for being late 30's which is honestly still fairly young. I mean it's not like mid 20's to early 30's like Two Broke Girls but still I didn't expect to see age setting in quite so much. Seann William Scott looks solid though. Representing my age demographic well as we are about 6 months apart in age.
