he undid old executive orders and basically said the government will stop doing equal employment

but it doesn't apply to the private sector

yet

this should be a wakeup call what will likely happen later,

they will go after the actual bill

I agree that it is useful to keep in mind the difference between laws and executive orders and that Trump cant just repeal existing laws.

The plan is to take away anything owned by anyone but a rich straight white biological man though.

So their issue with DEI was never about wanting to hjire people based on their merit or talent.
It was always about not wanting to hire minorities.

Yes we already all knew that, but there were right wingers trying to convince us that minorites would get hired regardless of DEI if they had Skill, but of course, with this happening it's obvious that they want to go back to hiring only white people for the good high paying jobs, and leave the shitty minimum wage, hard labor jobs for the minorities.

DEI was always there to right the wrong and rebalance the scales so that Minorites would have an opportunity they would otherwise never have or get , and not because thye are not skilled, but because racist bigots in charge only want to hire white people for the good jobs, and force minorities towards the crappy jobs.

In fact, I am sure many bigots would rather hire a less skilled person over a minority.

Funny you should mention that, I just got back from the store and eggs were 10 cents for a dozen. Also everything was in black and white, everyone was wearing fedoras, all of the women were chaste and traditional, and there were only white people. Unfortunately for me I am hispanic though so I began to fade away and had to go home before that got any worse. I'm still a little transparent. All worth it though for the American dream becoming a reality again!

Yeah, but the EEOC was created by the Civil Rights Act, to enforce the Civil Rights Act initially. To get rid of it, you again have a problem that it is in a law that can only be amended by Congress. Trump may be able to mess with it, but he cant just submit an EO getting rid of it.

I have to say though, after reading more I could be wrong in the first place that EEOC has jurisdiction over this fact. I assumed it did because its purpose is to enforce all laws relating to federal employment discrimination. And I already knew it covered the Civil Rights Act and the Rehabilitation Act, which is a pretty wide swath. But reading further, I dont see this act, I didnt see it as one it was charged with enforcing.

I have been a lawyer for 20 years, but employment law is not one of my areas of practice, so I shouldnt speak out of turn. My thoughts on this area should be taken with a grain of salt.

my point is Trump is over the prosecuting bodies whether it be the DoJ or the EEOC

On paper the federal government officially condemns racism and reserves the right to withhold federal funds if discrimination is found.

I can't imagine where we'll be by December of next year but one thing's certain, everybody not rich and white will have a shitload less rights and a lot of them will either be in camps or jail cells or dead from no longer being able to afford medical treatments

Sometimes I wonder if we elected a Black man as President too early. Not that I'm opposed to a Black President at all (I voted for Obama both times), but in 2008, America still had lingering racial resentment following the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and prior, and his election absolutely ignited a powder keg of White anger that led to Trump being elected the first time, and then being reelected with a vengeance.

What ended too early was Reconstruction. The Southern states should have been treated as occupied enemy territories for another 30 years. The former leaders of the Confederacy should have been tried and shot. Anyone who served in the Confederate States' legislature or upper-echelon of military leadership should have had their property confiscated and given to Black Americans.

I wonder how much would have changed if "Honest Abe" lived through the war. We had horrible presidents take over after major wars and make things so much worst then if the ones before them were still alive.
