Yes, and Yes. I had a Cancer scare a couple years ago so I had to sell my house because I couldn't pay the bills. I'm working on getting work again, but its a rough go since no places are hiring for my area of Tech expertise. I'm half tempted to take the money I've saved and either start my own start-up, or go back to college for programming even though I have no aptitude for it and our local college is assholes who couldn't teach to save their lives. Until that happens, I can't go buy a house or rent an apartment again.

Yes and yes. I moved back in about twelve years ago when I had a really bad depression and nearly killed myself, and haven't been able to afford to move back out on my own again since then due to housing/rent prices skyrocketing.

Yes and yes.

I've been meaning to move out for a while and have been looking, but many places are pretty pricey, and I have further trepidation about moving out in the Trump Economy.

About to turn 49 and no I have been gone since I was 17. I really like my dad but I just could not ever see myself living with him at any point as an adult unless I moved him in with me to be his caretaker or something.

I need my independence and yearned for it even as a young kid. I was an only child who basically had the place to myself because my dad was always working and I still couldn't wait to move out. I stayed with my dad at 23 when I got home from the military for just a couple weeks while I was getting an apartment and it just didn't feel right.

I would only stay at home if I was disabled.

Yes, 38 as of today. I haven't lived with my parents since I was 19, but I have to be out of my current place by the end of the month, and I'm having trouble finding anything I can afford, so I might have to move back in with them, as unfortunate as that is.

Yes, and yes.

We have 2 homes on our property. My parents moved into their friend's place, then later into my grandmother's place to help her. Which left me and my brother to live in our own.

My parents agreed that the place was mine and my brother's at that point. So, there really wasn't any need to move.

But my grandma died, and left her house to 2 of her great grandkids, who my mother had custody of(my mentally challenged cousin I used to mention). But the rest of the family threw a tantrum thinking it was unfair that my parents got to keep living there and forced them to leave, taking the kids with them.

With no where else to go(their friend's place was no longer an option). They moved back to "my" place. They did eventually fix up the second home since there wasn't enough room here for me, my brother, both parents, and 2 more kids. They moved next door, and left this as "my" place once my brother got married and moved out.

Though... They just kind of took over again. Now they're living here in the same house as me again.

No. Just turned 34 yesterday.

And yeah, I still live with my parents. I have a good job, but my parents don't mind me around, and I have no interest in enriching a landlord. I'll buy a house one of these days, though.

45. Dont live with my parents but did for the longest time. Or rather for a very long time I had a split residence where I spent part of the week with them and part of the week at the apartment I share with my partner. It gave me some level of independence and responsibility while still being somewhat dependent on them. Ultimately it was Covid lockdowns that made me go full time living in the one place apart from them.
