Trump is basically ruining not only the economy for poor people, but also rich people. The rich doesn't care about things like DOGE and the federal government being dismantled. The rich does have a lot of wealth in the stock market though. Even Elon Musk recently stated he wants America and Europe to be a free trade zone.

Right now Republicans are fully in the Trump cult. Will there be a point where there are enough forces to stop Trump or is the cult too strong? Will the cult be able to withstand the forces of Americans in general getting angry along with also the rich being pissed off? Most of Congress also cares about being re-elected and an economic disaster will severely lower the chances for Republicans to be re-elected.

A reminder that you would need a few Republicans in the House and about 20 in the Senate to impeach and remove Trump. I am assuming all Democrats would vote yes to impeach and convict Trump.

When I say "absolutely", I mean he'd have to create a level of devastation that no one could spin. The thing about scapegoats is that you only dispose of them after you have finished committing the acts you'd need to pass off a patsy for.

Project 2025 is nowhere near concluded yet. Only once it has been will I expect to see even token action taken against Trump. Perhaps not even then though, the long term goal is very much to turn America into a dystopia where a select few oligarchs control the entire nation and its populace, where all forms of wealth exist only to be with that select group.

I was firmly in the camp early last week that there is no way Trump is impeached and removed. He is destroying the economy (and the wealth of rich people) at a record pace though. Most rich people don't give two shits about Project 2025 and they care only about their personal wealth.

I doubt the rich are idling sitting on their asses right now. They are very likely trying to pressure Trump and Congress to stop this through any means possible.
