I don't think so. I believe the world today is (yet again) a different world to the one we woke up in the prior day.

Trump dumped and then pumped the stock market using his unchecked powers as King of the United States (he is no fucking President that's for sure). There is nothing stopping him doing this again and again and taking every single penny from the average person who has assets in the stock markets, and indeed that is very likely the plan.

The damage yesterday has done is irreparable. The world is not going to continue supporting the US-led financial markets now. The collapse may not be immediate but yesterday has made it a near-certainty it will happen relatively soon. The trust of the market is dead. And without trust there cannot be condifence, and with no confidence shares hold no monetary value.

Meanwhile Trump has caused inflation of over 140% to a lot of goods within the US that will be hitting very shortly. Again my mind is blown how little attention it feels the global media is putting on that. Yesterday, frankly, saw China's ultimate goals fast-forward by at least four decades (just like climate change has hit fast forward I guess. I was very much hoping to be dead from old age before current day events).

The strangest part however is how it feels like the entire world (besides China) is unaware or deliberately ignoring this. The US stock markets have been set upon the path of ruination, both China and the EU are at active trade war with the US (the EU last night Aus-time saying they will be waiting and planning their retaliation to the US, in other words "we're not backing off on retaliatory Tariffs, merely calibrating them for maximum pain.") and the US has no path forward.

I guess I'm rambling a bit. What I'm getting at is collapse seems to be here. Not in a year or a decade or two decades. Here, now. And it feels really surreal to see how much the media isn't really talking about it seriously (and if they're not doing so in Australia I can't imagine the circus that is the US MSM will be).

I don't see a path forward from here besides circling the drain. /blogfaqs /ramblefaqs

Don.the Cons businessman skills, Art of the steal: Bankruptcy leaving everyone else holding the bag while he appears ahead, no bill paying, backstabbing, crash everything then buy it up cheap.

Classic Trump.

This is what America elected.

Every American not in his personal circle will suffer. He doesn't care.

And yes, I do think we and the world have no chance any more for avoiding an iceberg. I just didn't think it'd be so fast. I thought he might massage things in more. Nope. Full speed smash and grab.

And hell, is he facing any consequences? Any of them?

And he can pardon all his fellow crooks and deplorable martyrs. So their chaos will provide cover for him.

And while all this happens, people will try to find a port to harbor in.

For many, it will be China.

Trump doesn't care about America or Americans. We are suckers who let the snake in who told us who he was.

Capital is moving to the euro, the pound sterling, and the yen. Not the renminbi.

But other than that, spot on.

Uh Japan is absolutely aware of this. Im sure every country is.

Its just that Americans get almost no international news and are exposed to almost nothing of the outside world, besides bits of entertainment media.

When my CDs come due, they are all going into my euro accounts.

Even if there are high interest rates, it won't offset the devaluation of the value of the dollar.

That said, if the Supreme Court rejects Trump's argument that he can fire the head of the Federal Reserve... and drops all tariffs and tariff talk permanently, the dollar may recover in time.

If anything, I think this is only "news" to Americans, in that they are now seeing what the rest of the world sees. The rest of the world is on the next step, which is trying to disentangle from the USA because you cannot be trusted any more as a nation.

Yep. I lost money to the manipulation he did Wednesday. Literally a transfer of wealth to those inside his circle.

Remember how yesterday I told you guys my co workers are trumpers? I said that because during the blackout which is probably still going on, they randomly struck up a conversation that Trump's getting rid of tax on overtime and how they hope he does it and how he's pissing off the world but they don't care about that they just think with overtime no longer being taxed they'll have more money. I just let them babble on among each other. It's like people don't care what corrupt proven liar Trump is if they think they can see a benefit to what he says he'll do, pure ignorance and selfishness is what killed this country.

The irony about all of that is with skyrocketing prices of everything.... that theoretical overtime isnt going to do them much good. Especially since you have to work fucking overtime to even see these theoretical gains.... which in itself is funny.

Yeah, as somebody who lives outside the US, theres plenty of news coverage about these things, and none of it has anything but contempt for the US and Trump.

As an American surrounded by morons and right wingers please look at our country and realize that when your systems are systematically bought out by the wealthy and the corporations this is what a country will turn into a bunch of selfish, willfully pridefully ignorant and hateful population who openly cheers for cruelty of all sorts even cruelty on themselves, facts are lies, lies are truth and deitifying the ignorant and cruel just because they have wealth kills a country and I will end with this warning, once they're done with us as in our country collapses and has no real government or military anymore they will simply move on, they will pour into other countries and attempt the same things there with their money, Elon Muck is actively trying the MAGA movement is actively trying, right now it's good that most of you see wht Conservatism brings a country but it's not enough, you need to completely reject conservatism because it's core principles are rooted in hatred and cruelty for the other and god like worship for the wealthy.

At least the best case scenario is they move on, some of these people are so crazy and selfish they may see their backs to the wall and launch the nukes to rage quit the entire planet if they can't have power
