not to crazy about the weather in Florida right now, but man harpooning Lionfish is honestly pretty fun (once you get used to it). I had reservations about it, until I learned that the government wants us to kill these fuckers because they're invasive as hell. What's honestly crazy about hunting for Lionfish is how they don't even move or flinch with the sight of me, which shows they don't have any actual predators in the topic waters. Every other fish would move out of the way but not them, so harpooning them was honestly easy. Not to mention the fact that they taste really really good. I had to stop trying to clean them because I got stung (I stupidly tried to cut the stingers quickly and ended getting stung myself) and it hurts like a mother fucker.

Great experience, but man I can't get used to Florida weather (or the east coast in general).

Yeah, I heard people like to get those nuisances outta the reefs and stuff.

So I assume the reason there are fish native to the Indo-Pacific region is some dumbshit thought they looked cool in an aquarium but kept getting stung.

It took me some getting used to, but if you've done snorkeling it's similar but instead you're equipped with a pole spear. At first I did feel bad getting my first lion fish, until I looked closer at the reef and saw a shit ton of them. There's a huge culture in Florida just specifically hunting Lionfishes lol.

Apparently, from what our guide told us, Scientists were able to track down the origins back to 7 female lionfishes that indeed got released into the wild. These guys are considered invasive species because not only do they lay millions of eggs, but they eat like a mother fucker (even when they're full) and have no natural predators because of their spikes behind their backs.

Damn, that guy was equipped with a huge scuba gear down to the container and everything, so he most likely had to dive deep. Mines was a lot more shallow, so all I had was snorkeling gear (meaning I had to hold my breath) and I had to swim up to the boat and drop the fish off every time I speared a lionfish. It was a lot of fun, but my body did feel sore (especially my legs) after it because I'm not used to swimming lol.

That's how I came up with the idea. I didn't think it would work until one of the groomsmen said they have an Uncle that does this type of stuff as a hobby.

Hey, it was for my Friend who was getting married and I was his Best Man. No way I would say no. But yeah I literally got called a White Supremacist when a woman wanted my first class seats, it was a fun story to share with the other people at the wedding lol.

There are like three or four different puns I can make on the word "Pride" right now but I can't decide on one.

You got to just embrace Florida for stuff like this. This type of stuff, lobster fishing, taking the boats out. Ill take that over a Miami club all day.

Were you in the keys? Great time to be there. Weather has been great. I took the afternoon off to play golf today. It was really nice out.

I'm currently in Orlando, going to go to Universal Studios Orlando tomorrow. But yeah I wasn't too crazy about the Miami Clubs we went to. I just dislike the club scene in general, I can barely hear anybody and I have yell at the top of my lungs. I did enjoy being a wingman for one of my friends and it looked like they got along.

But yeah I enjoy the ocean/beach activities more. I was just sweating like crazy, I guess I was not used to the weather because it looked like I was the only one complaining about it.
