If ads were only regular squares/rectangles that aren't links at all, and didn't move, make sounds or run scripts, and didn't advertise anything inappropriate, I wouldn't see any need for an adblocker. Just having ads as a png/jpg of the product and/or description would solve most ad problems imo. Though now that I think about it, do those kind of ads even exist at all? I would assume not.
