Byron has lasted about 25 rounds longer than I expected he would so it's all good

Saving Eiko in any circumstance is bad. Saving Eiko over Byron is horrendous.

Your expectations have to be pretty low for that character you don't know if you do something like saving Eiko.

I don't really mind Eiko, she's a bit annoying earlier on but intentionally so and she has decent moments. Also I like her theme. There are far more abrasive versions of her archetype!

I'd put her above the IV twins at the very least. (Also Yuffie and X-2 Rikku if they count as the same type of char)

35 of the 51 characters remaining made the top half last year as well (as well as one character who finished 51st so they were pretty close!)

I will not post them today in order to avoid another jinx

Also Quistis is the only soft boot returner left, the worst finish last year beyond her of a character still remaining was 67th place

its probably more our opinions on characters have been stagnant for a while. Gotta force people to play/replay more FF

or maybe the tcg changes opinions on characters

I think part of the problem is that people nominate characters in that they have no real intention to support because we all get 5 nominations so we might as well use them and hope someone else will pick them up

We enjoy the idea of a character getting in and doing well, we just don't want it to be us who helps them do well

Noms are basically people's pet projects at this point. That's why XVI has gotten the top 2 newcomers the last two years, since that game had the only newcomers left that could gain true support, thanks to it being new and the main characters being newcomers.

Well we like to bring in the characters but most peoples top 2 generally make it through boots intact

and then you just have to ask yourself if the characters coming in are in your top 2 or 3 in most hour 2 scenarios.

Which is why I let Zell sit out so I can push other favs

that's why I didn't nominate anyone this year and I still couldn't manage this <_<

actually i guess that's why i should have nominated someone like Setzer, so he could have taken the hit that day instead

The fact that we only get 2 saves per round really limits the opportunity to save pet projects.

it depends how you view it, if you are doing a more popular game or have a character with multiple people maining (Seymour good example for you and Charon) then you have more opportunities to save your pets pretty easily and can reliably do one

There are plenty of three save round opportunities! We'll be getting them back after the next round.

You've just gotta be willing to let some characters have a bad finish, and a lot of people are beholden to their one or two characters they can't bear to let go of, at least not before the new ones are already dead.

There's an FFIV collection on PSP with the original FFIV, FFIV: The After Years, and this very short interlude that takes place in between which I think didn't exist until then. I actually don't remember Monk A and Monk B being there, I remember them from TAY itself along with Monk C, the one with the most potential. At least, it's the one memed about on the gamefaqs TAY board.

Eikos costume does suck

There are no outlet stores within a 500 mile radius of Madain Sari, and her only options for clothing are having the dwarves, the black mages, or the moogles make them, or make them herself

A hideous outfit is the most understandable aspect of her character
