Israel has wanted war with Iran for decades. They always wanted the US to fight their war.

That was last year and they didn't hit residential buildings in the capital. This attack was far more major.

The problem is that the entire middle east is nothing but asshole countries who love killing the neighboring countries.

Donny himself tried to gaud Iran into conflict during his first term but thankfully they didn't bite. So I don't know why you would suggest the US wouldn't join in.

This. This isnt an isolated incident.

I dont think it was stupid. Especially in how the attack was coordinated. They essentially took out all the military leadership and nuclear development facilities in a single night which will really hamper Irans ability to respond. Could it escalate things regionally? Sure. But Iran doesnt have close to the same military capabilities today that they had 24 hours ago. Not a stupid move.

But if western motives for helping Ukraine are clean (imperialism bad if victims are mostly white), why aren't we doing anything to stop Israeli land grabs (silencing legitimate criticism of them doesn't count) (but not if they're brown).

Does Russia get to target Countries arming Ukraine?

This was quite a surgical strike that apparently took out much of irans military leadership. Idk if they can respond in any effective way any time soon.

Iran is funding militias in every country surrounding Israel because they fundamentally do not believe they have a right to exist. Trying to make this into some sort of weird race bait gotcha is unbelievably disingenuous, doubly so by comparing it to Russia and Ukraine when Russia is also the one openly stating Ukraine does not have a historical right to exist.

Israel is an extension of the United States. The faster people realize this, the more sense it'll make when these politicians will sit there and feed you bullshit while they vote to send more weapons to Israel.

Yeah you're right to an extent but if the common American is not in support, which it looks like we are not, then there may be enough power amongst the people to stop any USA involvement

The latter. The American populace is not relevant at all in what happens over there. For instance, Iran funding Hamas has been brought up as some level of smoking gun for them as Hamas is not popular with the American populace. On the flip side, Israel itself has used the funds they got from America (effectively the American populace as said money is from taxes) to fund Hamas. This leads to the awkward position where being anti-Hamas still largely leaves you in the spot of indirectly funding them.

Your feelings on the situation being utterly dumped upon by those in power.

Thats the thing, some people don't get that like Houthis are Pan-Islam antisemitic militants. Israel existing where it is kinda goes against their idea of a unified nation state that practices only Islam.

Their 'security' just means people they attack shouldn't fight back. Seizing territory by force is frowned on, so western governments pretend the settlers are defending themselves.

If Russia has to return captured territories, I guess the west doesn't recognises Russia's right to 'exist'.

World War 3 is pretty close it seems.

America will definitely get involved. If this was an mmo, Israel is the puller. Then America steps in as the tank and draws agro away from israel. Other countries like UK will probably be involved as doing dps.

I saw online that this attack has been planned for years. Is this basically a retaliation for Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi attacks? Are the Sunni Muslim countries also supporting Israel's attacks to keep Iran from becoming a nuclear power? Does this mean Iran will loose or diminish it's ability to prop up Russia's war on Ukraine in the form of Shahed drones?

Yes to all 3 although I wouldn't say Iran was propping up Russia in any way, just providing support. Russia also produces drones.

As an Iranian who has family personally affected by these strikes, I'm answering objectively here. It wasn't a dumb strategic decision by Israeli leadership insofar as they've further weakened their enemies and cemented their hegemony in the region, but it's bad news for regular people who don't want more war.
