You have plenty of other options, though. Battery-operated hand fans, hand-operated paper fans, spray bottles, finding shade... most of those things don't have cold analogs. The closest you can get are those hand warmer packets, but those will legit singe your skin off.
And if there's any kind of humidity those do nothing.

All of those are very poor options on a humid hot day.....

most if not all of those suck when it's actually hot out.

"most don't have cold analogs" every rooftop bar party I've ever been to has had firepits or those decorative heating columns what are you talking about

All of those mean precisely dick in actual heat. All a shitty fan does in 100+ humidity is blow hot air in your face.

Only if you live in an area that the normal temp is really hot. It was 59 when I took my dog out for a walk this morning. I just had shorts and a light hoodie on (but that was mostly because I had just woken up and still had bedhead) and it felt fine.

^This.

People who haven't experienced 120+ f don't know that not only is it miserable, hot, but it can dehydrate and give you heat stroke really fast. There's no way mitigate it aside from being indoors in the ac. The best the shade will do is make it 110 degrees instead of 120.

You can always add more layers or heat lamps to fix 30 degrees.

You can't remove more layers in the heat, and there really isn't such thing as efficient ac outside to cool you off unless you stand right in front of a blowing ac full body.

Dont you enjoy rooftop bars, parties in gardens and at boat clubs as well as picnics in parks? Without having to wear multiple layers of clothes?
i only enjoy these things in the cold. and thats only the couple times a year i feel the need to socialize. i could go the rest of my life with no human contact and be totally fine

and i dont know what a boat club is

Having a sweater or hoodie on is multiple layers imo but could have specified what I meant. And 15C in sunlight further south with warmer wind or no wind is very different from 10C with Arctic wind. Unless you live north of Anchorage then you live further south than me and the difference down there with warmth from the sun and chill factor of the wind is big. 18C abroad tends to feel like +25 here. Arctic winds and being further from the sun make a substantial difference. Personal anecdotes on this is a friends cousin from Philadelphia who visited last Autumn and another friends British friend who visited the year before that: both were freezing their asses off despite coming from parts of the world considered colder. And colder weather is not quite the same as it being cold - users here have called that temp range colder weather which make sense compared to 35-45C which is warmer weather. 15C is common Summer weather here and outdoor activities get a lot nicer on the days it is +20C - only needing thin clothes so you can show your muscles for the cute boys <_< The way the temp has been dropping this past week, if it keeps up well be below freezing from evening until morning soon.

I think "most comfortable" changes depending on how much clothing you wear around the house. I hate being dressed when I'm at home, so 68 would be a bit cold to me.

Yeah you're right lol. But anything hovering in the 60s/70s is good. Once you get really hot it's bad. But really cold is bad too. Honestly really cold (like -10 or under) just plain sucks. Snow and blizzards are ass.

at 10C i'm in jeans and a t-shirt. at 15c i'm in shorts and a t-shirt. at 20C i'm in shorts and an undershirt. higher than that and i'm as naked as i'm socially allowed to be.

i burn so hot that 0-10C is fantastic weather to me.

EDIT: i'm a little overweight but not very. so i could use the extra layer of fat as an excuse but i was like this when i was in shape too. actually i think i was better/worse. could go -5-10C in shorts and t-shirt

I don't need multiple layers of clothes at 50 to 59F. Like that is still shorts and t-shirt and stand outside all day and night weather. In no way is that remotely cold to me.

I mean I don't even wear a jacket when it is below 0 in the winter. Granted I can't stand outside all day in it but just walking from my vehicle to a building is no big deal. Now I'm not foolish and I keep a jacket in my truck along with hat and gloves and I wear jeans in the winter incase my truck breaks down and I need to walk. So I'm prepared just in case.

But as long as everything is working fine I still just wear a t-shirt even when it is -30 because my truck is warm enough for me and walking from my truck to a building it is tolerable for a few minutes. But yeah 50 to 59 is not cold weather at all. Like if I'm doing any activity that is still going to make me sweat. I don't need it to be below 0 but I legitimately prefer a crisper like 30 to 40F range and find it enjoyable and I can spend long periods outside in that temp in just a shirt and shorts.

I live in a place that swaps from 100+ degrees to down in the single digits.

I'd much rather be cold, it's easier to warm up than to cool off. But I love in a desert so I don't deal with much snow, I imagine I'd have a different tune if I needed to dig tunnels and whatnot.

I'd most likely wear a jacket at 50, but just because I like wearing jackets, not because it would actually be necessary for me.
