Who was stronger?

EU Luke? Lmao, easily.
Current canon? Debatable.

I think Anakin got stronger. If I remember well.

Anakin had way more training/ Luke had way better training.

Both completely failed the Jedi Order/ Luke at least tried to save it.

Equal piloting abilities/ Anakin had way better access to equipment.

Jedi feats are about equal except for Anakin is literally some kind of Force god.

I say Anakin. By a hair.

Legends? Luke by far. Anakin only achieved his peak (not full potential mind you) for a few hours before burning on Mustafar. Luke achieved insane levels of power in Legends, even being capable of fighting force gods like Abeloth.

Canon? Anakin. His whole likely World Between Worlds "potential Mortis God of the force" is implied to be insanely powerful. Canon Luke is always no where near his Legends incarnation.

IIRC the Return of the Jedi novel straight up says Luke was matching Vader blow for blow before beating him. Vader is stronger than Anakin ever was so yeah, Luke should be above him.

Anakin never really had a proper prime bc he got melted. I think Luke, even in the films, ended up stronger than the strongest we've seen Anakin.

Vader was in a comically painful to wear suit that was intended to shackle him as much as it was to keep him alive.
