I think they missed an opportunity to make it more grounded in realism like say Troy but they leaned the other way. Snyder is not a very good director, imo, but he has his talents, and turning a comic panel into a movie frame is one that hes quite good at. --- Show me your might! Give me your best shot! Excessive slow-mo ruined the fight scenes and I felt absolutely nothing for Leonidas being sad about missing his family. Not to mention it is a candidate for being the most meme-spawnable movie I've ever watched. Pretty great entertainment, would watch again willingly if I had to kill time.
