I'm not sure Hollywood is capable of making a Superman movie that doesn't have Lex or Zod as the antagonist.

It needs to not be Lex or Zod. I cannot stress how extremely tired I am of both of them.

Metallo is too boring as a solo villain in a big budget movie.

I would like it to not be Lex for the next movie but I really hope we do get more Lex eventually. I love the idea of him destroying the world just to get Superman.

Metallo would be cool.
Wouldn't mind Toyman too if they upped the creepiness factor like the animated series did.

I think having Superman fight "bad Superman" for two movies in a row would be kind of dumb.

i think bizarro is a hell of a lot more than bad superman

like, hes fun. he's likeable. you almost wanna root for him at times. easy redemption arc ending where he helps fight the real villain

Also potential for an interesting relationship with Lex where he sees him as his "father" and does things to appease him but Lex wants nothing to do with him because he's the clone of the guy he hates lol

Mister Mxyzptlk is the only right answer.

I think a mix of Parasite and Metallo might work, both villains who can either weaken or drain supermans powers and require him to outthink them

imo they totally should double down in the direction they went with superman's family wanting him to take over earth.

instead of zod being the typical villain he would have stayed as bestie of jor-el and gained his full blessing(and resources) to help superman take over earth with a convincing, but morally ambiguous uncle/godfather role or whatever.

I kinda want it to be Mxyzptlk just to continue throwing threats at Supes that he can't just punch away.

I'm not sure about Metallo on his own. If it were me I'd couple him with someone like Toyman or ideally Brainiac.

Or they can combine with The Engineer, give her an upgrade with Kryptonite power supplies.

Yeah, Brainiac could work well.

I actually like the idea of turning the Engineer into Metallo. She's what attracts Brainiac to Earth and he upgrades her with kryptonite he found in deep space. Give him the "Krypton AI" origin because it's just better than him being a whatever alien from Colu.

Oh this definitely. He doesn't even need to be Kryptonian. But I've always disliked the idea of an organic Brainiac. He feels less scary that way to me.

We need Brainiac. Maybe it's because I grew up on the DCAU but "Lex movie -> Brainiac movie -> Darksied movie" always seemed like such a no-brainer for a Superman trilogy to me.
