Silicon based meaning like "rock lifeforms". Like that one rock based friend Thor has in Ragnarok and Love and Thunder

Would they just eat smaller rocks? And would they drink lava? If silicon based life came to earth they would probably find carbon based life (us) to be as weird as we would find them

I don't know what they'd eat, but if they could speak, they'd certainly call us "ugly giant bags of mostly water."

Silicon based life wouldn't be rocks any more than carbon based life is coal.

Silicon is the go to for speculation because it's the closest element to carbon, chemically speaking. But as far as I know, silicon chains are a lot less robust. So it's probably still just science fiction.

If silicon based life existed there would be an entire silicon based biosphere. I don't know that it's super realistic most of what I hear makes it seem unlikely. I've heard ammonia based like is more likely.
