I have been to a city in Mexico called Ensenada. We visited that place as part of a cruise. It was a pretty vibrant place and the thing I remember most was the tacos I bought from a street vendor. I smelled them from far away and it was enticing, so I got some. They were good!

I'd like to see Mexico again eventually.

Nope, and barring unforeseen circumstances, I don't plan to.

Farthest south I've been is the Denver airport.

Almost

It's tempting to cross the border whenever I'm down in San Diego just to say I've done it, but never have

I was googling the border the other day, discovered a tunnel that connects the US to an airport in Mexico

only for like 10 minutes.
when I was a kid, we went on a cruise that briefly stopped in Mexico. I don't remember where exactly.
I got a wooden snake toy, and that's all I remember.

as a fellow mexican American,i did make a trip to the motherland. it was to Cancun. I would not travel elsewhere for security purposes. I also will never return because visiting once was enough for me.

There are Mexican states (on the Yucatan Peninsula) that are safe. Cancun is on the Yucatan Peninsula but the state it is in is not one of those states

My family drove from San Diego to Colima, Mexico when I was in high school, stopping in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Manzanillo along the way.

We also took many day trips to Ensenada for lobster.

As an adult, I went to Cabo with my family once.

My honeymoon was in Playa del Carmen which included a trip to Chichen Itza and a dip in a cenote.

I also went to Tijuana a few times when I was 20 with friends to go clubbing.

I walked across the border to Tecate to have lunch one time. It was pre-9/11 so you didn't even need a passport.

They have some really good Mexican restaurants down there!

Nope. I'm up in New York and it's still hotter than I'd like it. Mexico, regardless of any other factors, sounds like a place I ought best avoid having my brains boil out my ears.

I haven't seen this great of an example of ignorance in years. Mexico is a huge country with multiple temperature regions ranging from freezing to hot.

As aware of my ignorance as I may be, that really doesn't mean much coming from you. I can only assume that you must live in country without mirrors.

I've been to the border and stepped across it but never went to any towns/cuidades.
Apparently my grandmother went to some church in Mexico to ask for forgiveness when she divorced my grandpa but I don't foresee myself ever going.

Freezing? I can't imagine there are parts of Mexico where any body of water freezes through with any kind of regularity. I can see maybe low 40's.
