I used to trash on the Backstreet Boys like I assume most guys do, but this song was in a recent video I watched and thought to myself, "Wow, this is a pleasant song", proceeded to google the lyrics, and seeing that the Backstreet Boys performed it resulted in me reenacting this meme:

I am also now addicted to Shape of my Heart, another really pleasant BB song.

I used to hate on all that mid 2000s pop punk and emo but now modern pop punk/emo is one of my favorite genres and Ive revisited a lot of that old stuff and enjoy it

musically a lot of those bands were way more interesting than they were given credit for back then

I was perhaps too hard on emo. At least popularized version of the early 2000s.

I find that I'm able to not hate all forms of jazz now.

Some of it I really like.

Metallica. Though the radio station I spent a lot of time listening to at the time had a full hour of Metallica every night for a while. It wasn't even stuff that you don't hear much of, just the same songs you always hear a dozen different ways.

After Hardwired.... To Self Destruct I started coming back around on them though.

Ageed. Its my 3rd most listened to genre/era.

Quite often I try to go back and listen to the discography of a band I either disliked or did not give a fair chance in years past, I think one of the biggest ones would be Fall out boy, but I discovered I didn't hate them in like 2013 after pretending to hate them old high school

No. I still hate pretty much everything I used to hate. I do have the opposite issue though, bands I used to appreciate that I hate now. The first one I distinctly remember this happening to is The Beatles.

Panic! at the Disco (came to love the first two records. Now I just love the second)
The Beach Boys (hated them maybe when I was a preteen? Loved them ever since, of course)

I used to casually listen to Backstreet Boys as a kid, but lost interest
I was surprised a few years ago when i found that they're still active and i actually like the newer stuff

I think Rolling Stones. The 60s and 70s stuff

Actually my default is to automatically hate a band and then warm up to them over time. Evanescence, Coldplay, Grizzly Bear. Its so easy to be introduced the wrong way to a band and get the wrong impression.
