Because my plan made me eligible for an upgrade with a good deal on a trade-in for my old model, and my old phone was starting to show its age (particularly in the battery life). Why do I regret it? The new upgrade (iPhone 17 Pro) kind of fails to impress. The new iOS is terrible, buggy, jitters and freezes are common, messaging is worse, the autocorrect continues to get worse, its significantly heavier than my old iPhone, and worst of all, it turns out the USB-C model iPhones cant be read by my pre-CarPlay iPod controller in my old-ass car, so if I want to listen to music in my car now Im going to have to buy a new Bluetooth car adapter. The camera button brings up the camera up, but it immediately freezes (the opposite of what you want when trying to snag a quick picture, which was the point of adding the camera button in the first place), when turning the phone from portrait to landscape and vice versa, the phone struggles to format properly, particularly if the keyboard is open. The Messages app is the worst culprit here, with the keyboard blocking texts, the text box youre typing in regularly disappearing, the keyboard itself disappearing this is all on the homegrown apps! The ones that should, presumably, work the best! Its completely out of character for Apple, but this is the first time Ive ever used an iOS where I felt genuinely that the previous version was actually better. --- Show me your might!
