Its Thursday lunchtime here. Not drinking tonight, but going to a friends birthday thing tomorrow and its a freeflow, so that might get a bit messy.

People dont really drink much in their homes here because its so cheap to go out.

Makes sense. I'd be way more inclined to go out for a night at the club if it was clear and nice out, versus having to go out into the middle of a blizzard to get there.

Well, I'd be way more inclined if I was still going to clubs at all, and wasn't an old shut-in who would probably shatter his knees if he tried to dance. My clubbing days were long, long ago.

I very rarely drink. It's so expensive. Last time was a month ago I got a six pack of Founder's Porters.

No drinks for me today

The only thing I usually drink these days is an Old Fashioned. Simple and tasty. I'll probably have one in a bit when the Laker game comes on.

I'm having one san miguel light some kind of flavored beer thing.

I had an Asian beer. I forget what it was called.

I don't drink alcohol.

I'm a lightweight now. Not sure how much I drank last night but I guess it would have been at least a triple. Not drunk but slightly buzzed.

It's hit or miss for me on how much I can take. I've been known to down a whole bottle of tequila with barely any effect, and also start getting tipsy off half a Dos Equis. I don't even think fullness of my stomach necessarily has much to do with it either. Maybe it's just a mood.

I only drink liquor. The bottle is probably 10+ years old considering where I got it from.

Like upper end, I drank a bottle of tequila one night and didn't really start feeling it until halfway through, and while I was pretty drunk by the end of it, I wasn't pass-out drunk. And on the lower end, it's more of starting to feel a buzz and getting a little light headed.

The thing is, I really don't drink that often as it is. So it's all the more strange how my tolerance does have the potential to be so high. Like I said, I think it's a mood thing because I do tend to tap out early when I'm already feeling tired or depressed. Last New Years Party, I was able to drink quite a bit and still safely drive myself home.

interesting. I wouldnt do the drive yourself home thing after drinking especially on NYE w the police out but thats me.

I stopped an hour or two before and really wasn't all that buzzed even during. How long is enough time before you'd drive again?

But yeah, I guess I get the concern. I probably could have worded that better, or just not at all.

I certainly wouldnt drive again that day. And if I woke up the next day feeling anything but absolutely fine, I wouldnt drive that day either.

I dont understand people who drive after drinking. Its really easy to avoid doing it. But then, I lost 3 friends to a drunk driver at 17, so its something of an emotive subject for me.

Yeah. Drunk driving is very easy to avoid. Cabs, ride sharing services or go with a friend whos not drinking. In the list of things that are not worth it, driving after drinking rates very very very high.

Yeah, sorry. I get it. If it makes you feel better, I do make a point of not driving when I know I'm buzzed, and I specifically paced myself knowing ahead of time I'd be driving home. Which was the point I was trying to make, that there are cases where I guess my body just metabolizes it better. If I had gotten to that point and was still feeling light headed I would have given it more time or just not driven myself.

But given your history, I don't think any of my excuses are worth much, and that's fair.
