Going?! In maybe 2011 I held off on watching/reading these because I wanted to wait for an ending but they just apparently never ended.
At least Bleach had an ending so I'm going through that one again. That was probably my favorite of the big 3 anyway.
I've been kind of out of touch with Shonen so I don't even know if there was ever another "big 3" or whatever.

Milk it 'til you die is a very popular concept for serialized content producers.

You should never watch the One Piece anime period because it has horrible pacing. The stopped doing filler and instead just stretched out the episodes with reaction shots (something happens, you need to show everyone's face reacting to what happened) and recaps. The episodes were just 5 minutes of new footage. Even the "big" episodes like Gear 5 were just reaction shots and reusing the same fucking frames over and over. The weirdest part was people saying how awesome it was.

There's milking a product, and then there's One Piece. That's not milking, that's something else. There's big revelations being made in the manga now, but it took so long, and the finish line is still so far away.

Naruto did have an ending (It was bad), Bortuo is spin-off/sequel.

One Piece is finally answering some questions from early in the series but it feels like there is still a ton of story left to go.

Might shock you to know but Dragon Ball was ongoing up until and after Toriyama's passing (and was in production from 1984-2025, 41 years). Basically every one of the big Shounen Jump manga has continued to see new chapters in recent years.

That is a bit misleading for Dragonball. The original Dragonball series ended in 1995 and Super didn't pick up until 2015, so there was a ten year gap with no active Dragonball manga as far as I can tell.

The whole final arc is a mess, that was just the icing on the cake.

I kinda like what I've seen of early Boruto but there's a lot of nonsense with tree-people I don't want to bother with. Haven't really watched the full anything yet although I find it more appealing than I ever found Naruto.
