I have an android phone. Might be the latest update. I did switch carriers recently about 3 weeks ago from ATT and mint mobile. I'm pretty sure I still got notifications. I'd schedule texts to myself for reminders. But even without scheduling, I don't get a notification. Anyone else notice this on their Android phone? Double checked to make sure notifications are on. Been like this for at least 2 weeks now. --- Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Why not just use a dedicated reminders app? There's a stock reminders app for iOS. I can't imagine Android doesn't have something similar. --- It is what it is, man. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Lol just tried it and it doesn't work. Then again I haven't texted myself in years so no wonder I didn't notice. TC have you tried using your calendar as a way to store your notes? --- Who is? I am! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I usually use the calendar and alarm apps. I'm not even sure how what you're describing would work, did you schedule the message? --- He/Him http://guidesmedia.ign.com/guides/9846/images/slowpoke.gif https://i.imgur.com/M8h2ATe.png https://i.imgur.com/6ezFwG1.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

I noticed that with my new android I have to fully unlock my phone to see if I missed a message. Before my light would blink and I can see a missed call or message from the sleep screen...pretty annoying to miss a basic feature for communication. Also I like to text myself like something to pick up from the store or a new song/movie to check out oo. --- I'm surrounded ... Copied to Clipboard!

Hey I noticed something similar. When I text myself, I used to "receive" the text, meaning I'd see the same message twice. But now I don't "receive" it. I have a Google Pixel --- Let's-a go! Okey dokey! ... Copied to Clipboard!

CRON posted... Why not just use a dedicated reminders app? There's a stock reminders app for iOS. I can't imagine Android doesn't have something similar.Because texting is way easier/faster than going to the calendar app. I usually do calendars for events in advance (like a wedding), but it has a default reminder of notifying me 30 minutes before via email and notification. Either way, I still texted myself regardless for events too. Its like an extra alarm clock. divot1338 posted... Youre the kind of user that makes software developers cry. Why? Texting yourself reminders is a legitimate practice and way easier than calenders. Why should we not be able to get notifications when we receive a text from ourselves? Its done the same way when we get texts from other people. I have a lot going in my life. I have ADHD, and I text myself a schedule of what to do everyday just to function properly and remind me to get things done. And believe me, I've tried other methods like Excel and word too, and hand writing. Calendar is a pain and something I need to adjust, but I hope they bring back the notifications for texting oneself. --- Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need. ... I just tested this with the Google Messages app. It doesn't "receive" anymore like post #9 said. I just randomly got the idea to try turning off RCS for my own thread. Once I did that then texted myself, I "received" the text along with the notification. Edit: I should probably explain how I turned RCS off for just my self thread. While in the thread, tap the three dots in the top right corner then tap "Details." Turn on the "Only send SMS & MMS messages" option. --- Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/kid_prodigy23 ...
