So no stuff like Light Ball Pikachu or Eviolite. Basically just keep them unevolved with zero benefit because you prefer that form.

I used to keep Tepig as such until it was two levels away from Emboar's evo requirement because I hated Pignite for years and wanted to have it on screen for as little time as possible.

also it stopped following you in yellow if you evolved it. though i guess that counts as a gameplay reason?

You can't even evolve it in Yellow lol. It will reject the thunder stone. I guess if you trade it away, evolve it and then trade it back yeah. But trading him away makes you a villain anyways.

Would have a Living Dex count as a gameplay reason? I haven't actually done so, but I would like to at some point.

Alolan Meowth obviously. Because it doesn't have an evolution. It's already the perfect pokeyman.

There are lots of gameplay reasons to delay an evolution...

I kept a Shiny Cubone that I caught in Soulsilver unevolved just in case in got a divergent evolution later, which it did with Alolan Marowak. I forgot to evolve him in S/M before I transferred him to Home though, so he's stuck as a Cubone until they give me a way to access its Alolan form again.

Oh yeah I also caught two shiny magikarp in HG and never evolved them cuz if I did, they'd just be the shiny that everyone gets in the game for free lol. I thought about getting one to lv100 and looking up the best build for it just for lulz, but never did.

Nope, every single reason I'd not want to evolve a Pokemon is a gameplay-related reason.

(Note: I would consider purposely restricting myself to unevolved Pokemon to actively make the game more difficult as a gameplay reason)

It is customary of me in many games in the post-game to have a team consisting of: two actual fighting Pokemon, a flyer, and three high level raccoon dogs with Pickup

(I have nothing against Linoone - in fact I love Linoone also. But I definitely prefer Zigzagoon.)

I know you said not for gameplay reasons but I remember keeping a Bidoof for pickup...and as my team mascot.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, I once played through Silver with a kitted-out Magby. I guess it was part of the "fun" of having a somewhat new baby evolution? That's probably the only time I can think of doing that, 'cause I usually evolve things at a natural time instead of putting it off indefinitely. (The only time recently I can think of doing that was in some GBA game where I was keeping Meowths for Pickup, which is lost on evolution.)

Quilava's my favorite Pokemon, so I always keep one around when possible.

Also helps it avoid the allegations.
