Reading through some of these comments has me rolling my eyes. The nostalgia goggles this community have are permanently fused to their face.

Gamers annoy me to my very core because of the fact they act so entitled and are never, ever happy with anything.

It's always these remakes that bring out the worst in y'all too because you want it to look modern and have all the bells and whistles but you don't want anything to change.

Just a group of people who deserve nothing imho.

Halo 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, top 3-5

The top comment is literally saying it looks good. And comments that do talk about preferring aspects of the original aesthetic are not even complaining about the new one.

Its gonna be a boring soulless remake that'll run terribly cause of UE5 that misses the point of the original filled with genAI shit

when you have some original designers call out them taking out part of the levels that they specifically put there in order to make the design better, that's not a good sign

TC likes to defend the weirdest things. I have him tagged for defending Hasan shocking his dog. But he also just has like a weird obsession with video games and loves to pick very unpopular opinions on them.

These are incredibly reasonable comments. Most acknowledge the objectively improved technical graphics, while being disappointed in the art direction or lack thereof they chose to go with.

The graphics are technically pristine, but I can absolutely see where people are coming from saying it looks a little too clean

Thankfully, it looks like only a single person itt took TC's word for it and didn't actually click the link and read the comments.

No reasonable person could read those comments and come away with the TC's thoughts.

I just think it looks cool and that pisses people off. I've said I would never own one because of the build quality and I wouldn't support Elon but people still need to tag a person because they think a truck looks cool.

Honestly don't see what the issue is with the redditors comments. They aren't wrong.

These are forerunner objects that have been there for like 10000+ years and they are in pristine condition? It looks just like a stereotypical futuristic style that is in every other media.

With that said, it does look beautiful, even if i disagree with the style they were going for. I'm just interested to see how they do the flood levels

The most damning thing about this video is the lack of care that the dog yelped. If my dog yelps for any reason I go over to make sure theyre okay.

Seems like a few outlier comments rather than "the community".

It definitely looks different, and not necessarily "the same, but better". Some things were lost. Some things were added. But that's just how these paintjobs go. The game is so old that you can't really give it a facelift and it look good, so you have to make changes.

Take the ring for example. Yes, it's more prominent in the OG, but also far less of a realistic look. Something in the distance like that would not be so prominent.

Something else that stands out is the vegetation. Yes, there is so much in the new version... because there was practically none in the old version.

Anyone who goes into this looking for a 1 to 1 copy is doing themself a disservice, no matter the game. The entire point is that it's supposed to be a new visual perspective on an existing game. You're supposed to be like "oh, it's this place" but also, you're supposed to think "oh, it looks different".

The original "soul" was always going to take a hit, because part of that soul is attached to lesser graphics and how it worked.

Boletaria (DeS) was one of my favorite game locations. When Demons Souls remake came out and gave it a huge facelift, I absolutely loved what they did with it. I hope a lot of Halo fans can enjoy the new graphics.

Alright I never played Halo when it came out, never got the hype. But I did pick up the series collection when it came out on Steam and played through them all.

Guess I'm just confused why they are releasing a re-remake so soon after the MCC. I guess that launched in 2019 though.

Just feels like they're riding the nostalgia train a little too hard

Exactly this.

The difference in whatever "soul" you think this remake doesn't have is literally all nostalgia. If you're expecting this to reactivate those same feelings you experienced 25 years ago that's an outrageous ask.

They essentially were in the original version, too.

Plus, 343 Guilty Spark has been putzing around for untold millenia keeping everything running with all the Sentinels, it's not like the ring's just been floating around with no maintenance the whole time.

The OG versions are just "dull" compared to this version. But they don't have any noticeable wear or tear, no overgrown plants, dirt or debris, etc.

I'm agreeing with you on that front, basically everything on Halo looked fine right up until you hit the missions 343 Guilty Spark/The Library.

to be fair that dev was saying bringing a warthog into the hunter fight made it too easy while also giving the player overshields and a pistol that easily one-shots the hunters so
