Shouldn't the first concern be the extra 1,000+ calories that come from the meal when compared to a similar option made at home? When in doubt most places will just load on butter or other fats to "enhance the flavor".

Well stop worrying about it. It is full of all that shit. So is frozen food and almost anything processed.

Unless you are making food from scratch its very hard to get away from all of that stuff now. Its beyond your control. Ive tried to make more stuff from scratch, but its hard to do that with every meal and not want to buy box noodles or jar sauce or something.

Yeah man everybody should just make every food option they could possibly get at a restaurant at home, it's so simple.

This

Fear about food additives or whatever is honestly the least of most people's worries when it comes to health issues due to over eating, lack of exercise, and lack of eating fiber, fruits, and vegetables.

American food is killing all of us in the states. And by food I mean fast food AND even some stuff grown on farms. So what can you do? Try to limit how much takeout you eat, and try to cook for yourself as much as you can. Working out is dope, but you can't outwork a bad diet.

Well they're surely not giving you organic. Restaurant shit comes in 5 gallon buckets and frozen packets of slop decorated up to look like it's worth what they charge.

This. There are plenty of local restaurants that use fresh locally grown ingredients.

You're gonna need to deal with some of that, unfortunately. Just research the brands you pick, as some are better than others, and try to portion control.

The biggest issue is loading stuff up with things like bitter and salt. It's very, very easy to blow past your sodium intake on a single plate

So either make everything from scratch, or just live with it.

Its also in organic food. Its in aninals that are dozens even hundreds of miles from any human settlement.

You'd be hard pressed to find food that doesn't have microplastics.

You have more control at home. The more touches an item has the more potential degradation, contamination. I grow a lot of my own vegetables.

Honestly TC?

If eating out is a treat, rather than regular, just accept the extra salt/fat/whatever content as something to pay off.

Most professional chefs do add more salt than necessary (salt is tasty, plus if you get used to the flavour, it's natural to add even more).

As long as the restaurant isn't your primary food source, and you eat healthily at home, it shouldn't be too big an issue.
