The issue with this argument is that pro-life people believe this to be true of all fetuses. You can argue that they stop caring when the child is born, that their definitions of life could be extended to cancer cells, etc. or that that they're not conscious... but you've just established that because the parents want the child and have an attachment to the fetus that is illogical, that it should be treated like a life. Pro-life people would just extend that to all of them, not just their own.
