The existence of the options is what would bother people who complain about them though.

I didn't suffer the same 'hardship' they went through so their own experience is cheapened.
This is crazy, ever since FE added casual mode I have never once thought that me clearing it on classic without losing a unit was somehow lessened because other people Ill never interact with played it on casual. Im definitely a guy who wants these difficult games to be tense and challenging but what others do has no bearing on my experience.

I'm in favor of optional QOL improvements as long as the games aren't balanced around that. Like Fire Emblem. Casual mode should be a thing, but they shouldn't design a map or challenges with suicide strats in mind. It should be entirely designed around classic mode, where sacrificing a unit truly means sacrificing that unit, it's a cost to gain those advantages. Casual mode should purely be an easier option, and not change game design or use of development time in the slightest bit.

This 100%. When the maps start being designed around have sacrificial units to clear a portion thats when I might quit the series. It thankfully hasnt happened yet.

for SMTV, I dont think it needed save anywhere because save points were so numerous and always conveniently placed right before bosses. In past SMTs you usually had to trek through a lot of random encounters to get from the nearest terminal to the boss, so with the way V was setup it was already made easier for the player.

I do understand a lot of new fans were upset by this so I get why they added it.. but I wont use it. I like the tension of exploring a new place and facing potential doom around the corner. The warp back option that V added is a good compromise imo, because it removes the chance of getting fucked by a random encounter after clearing whatever objective you were doing and saves a bit of time. People were mad then but as a fan for 10+ years I really didnt mind at all. And I wont care if people use this save anywhere feature it has nothing to do with my own experience.

You can have results or excuses.
Not both.
