Our dog died this morning. Knew it was coming for a while, but didn't expect it so soon. Dreading having to tell my wife when she gets home. My kids aren't taking it well at all. It's the first death they've had to deal with. And seeing their reaction just makes it so much harder. When we moved last year, we didn't bring him with us because we didn't think the long trip would be good for him. So we left him with my wife's sister. He started doing better when he went to stay with her. Before that he wasn't eating much. But when she had him, she said he'd eat really well. My mother-in-law brought him with her when she came to visit over Mother's day, and left him here with us. It was nice having him back again. My wife was so happy. She's had that dog over half her life. I was going to call her at work to give her the news, but thought it'd be better to do in person. Never lost a pet before.
