It's not that. It's this genuine belief that it's better to keep trying to convert even .001% of bad guys, rather than get some catharsis out of mockery.
And I mean, I agree with that. It's strictly true.
It is also not at all how people work.
Under normal circumstances I wouldn't even give them attention or the time of day, but when topics are made about it, I'd absolutely think it's better to convert than get catharsis from mockery.
