im debating whether i wanna go out in pants or if im too chicken to wear one of the eight skirts i bought for halloween ._.

While not the same thing, I had something similar-ish a few years back when I started doing kilts. Are you comfortable just wearing the garment? Foe me I'd wear one around my room/house until it was just clothes ib my mind then upped it to going to the store, because for ne the stakes didn't seem too high then. Once that felt normal I didn't feel strange about it.

Again, kilt as a cis guy so yeah, but had to get to the point where i didn't feel like i was wearing a costume. Recently this month I did the same when it came to my Halloween outfit - Velma. Get used to skirt, was able to see how not different from my kilts in the past it is around house. Gotten to the point where ive worn it to McD under an overcoat, so Noone else sees it but I felt safe wearing it. (Old friends works/worked there and if they were there would have gone sans coat).

Thinking next summer might get one in a better color for hiking or something (too damn hot for pants) as bright red ain't my usual color. Because the mindset needs to be that you're not wearing a costume, it's clothes covering your bits that you feel comfortable wearing.

Also stupid animal brain side of me goes, got a great look going. Better than one or more of my major exs. (Is that insensitive i feel like it might be but good intentions). Hope things work well for you and your night went well.
