It's a societal/cultural issue that largely harms men, pushing the message that "real" men shouldn't cry. A man will be automatically assumed to be the perpetrator of domestic abuse because of the belief that men are always the aggressors. A man having the skills to simply take care of himself via cooking, cleaning, grooming is looked down upon as being "feminine" despite the fact that they're basic life skills that everyone should have. These are some toxic ideas of masculinity, and fighting against these concepts has lead to some positive cultural shifts where these harmful ideas are slowly phasing out, though it'll be a while before it stops being the "standard" way of thinking.
