I basically hate anime but I really liked the first few episodes a few years back because it felt tense and exciting. I liked the idea of humanity having to be locked in a cage and backed into a corner. My interest in the show dropped off a cliff when the main character "died" and came back to life as a titan. This basically made me feel like none of the deaths are even going to mean anything and now humanity also has a good chance vs the titans which removed almost all of the tension I was enjoying. Also one episode was just this pussy ass character's whiny inner monologue.

I mostly hate anime because of perverted fan service and cliches but I generally don't have a problem with shonen shit. But that doesn't mean I want to see ass pulls. Does the show still have some tension or is it just cool fight scenes and deus ex machina crap
