I basically do everything that I'm not too sore to do on a given day. I started with mostly machines but now I just do them sometimes at the end of a workout when I'm too sore to do anything else. I mostly do compound exercises, or use dumbbells. I've been doing pullups and dips this last month or two as well. I do cables when I want to isolate a muscle if some other part hurts too much to risk doing a bar or dumbbell workout (like if my shoulder or tricep hurts but I still want to do chest or whatever)
