In the article linked to in the first post, someone asked, "have any of the Mario games had a scene involving Mario doing actual plumber stuff?" (or a similar question.)
Well, not Mario, but Luigi did during Luigi's Mansion - he unclogs a toilet with a vacuum cleaner.
