The knowingly being a burden part of my shut in was what may have hurt the most. I was shut in for a few years, had social anxiety....depression.....had a therapist that seemed to just be there for the free checks and not really to help me, got a psychiatrist, fell into delusions for awhile then fell into full blown paranoid schizophrenia. Got hospitalized a few times....and now I'm on a plateful of pills now for maybe the rest of my life(pills with their own side effects, pain, akathisia, etc.) I say all that to say this.....you are young...things could be worse, trust me.
