Nuke them from orbit if you have to and start over. You can't blame parents for not wanting a man who spent years joking about raping children to work on the superhero movie your kids want to see. People don't want kids to seek him out at conventions for photos and signatures.
To be fair, social media wasn't such a huge issue 7 - 8 years ago.
