I understand that power corrupts, Robert while a lovable dick was also an asshole due to being drunk with power, but his code and treatment of those he loved while having disdain for those he did not made him a much better character.
you can have a drunk with power character that is not dumb amounts of evil, just cuz.
Lmao Joffery lived his whole life being told by Cersei that he could have whatever he wanted. So it's no surprise that he naturally becomes an asshole and also sadistic.
She also specifically told him "everyone that isnt us is an enemy."
