This poll is a decade old, but falls in line with the numerous other times the poll was run and the user base (or at least people voting on the polls) are predominantly from the US:

Now, let's skew that data in favor of Gamespot based on their overall visitor rank, and you'd still end up with around 60% of user's being from the US.
