Because if you don't "dignify" it, you're basically admitting it has merit. There are sources in the description of the video on YouTube.

No, it doesn't "prove" it, it merely suggests it. There's a difference. I mean, come on. Leftists accused Trump of being a white supremacist because he wouldn't specifically disavow the actual white supremacists at Charlottesville, so clearly this type of thinking has some merit with leftists too.

Adequate proof? No. But by not addressing and refuting the claim, he did raise suspicion. I don't suspect him of being a Kenyan sleeper agent or a non-American, but I know some people did and still do. Of course, the fact that people use this line of thinking doesn't make it valid. Still, that's just how the average human mind works, and public figures should know this.
