Don't know how Scott being there adds to Cap's plan. He will probably assume he returned from wherever the others are, be told what really happened, and then the plot carries on as usual. And like already said, they really should have left that part out of the trailer. Unfortunately, the trailer has nothing of note to even mention outside of this plot point.
